Russ started his musical career at age 16 borrowing any friend’s guitar he could get his hands on. Russ’ dream of being part of a band became reality in the summer of 1966 when he and his cousin formed a trio writing and recording two songs on a 45 rpm record at a Philadelphia recording studio. In 1971, while still enlisted in United States Air Force, he wrote and produced about 10 original tunes. From 1972, to the present, Russ has performed with many New Jersey - Philadelphia bands such as “Cold Nite”, “High Maintenance”, “Uncle Sugar”, “Classic Sun”, and “Victorious”, and has written more than 20 original songs. Winning first place awards at a McGuire AFB’s annual talent show, Russ has developed, managed and played in an Air Force jam band, numerous Air Force Christmas parties, picnics, other military events. Involved in a past Motown project and lead guitarist for a 10 piece dance band, his love for horn arrangements and talented professional musicians was the provided catalyst to audition for the famed “Love Affair Band”. On behalf of his family, audiences, professional clients, and beloved band mates, Russ is grateful for the opportunity to play, sing, arrange, and produce great music for every listener!
